St. Patrick’s Day at the Green Door

This week The Green Door is joining in the festivities of St. Patrick’s day with a “green” display and free beer all week.  Not really, but we are selling anything with any green on it for half-price from now to the 17th of March and that includes an enormous selection of GREEN t-shirts on display in the hallway.  The catch is that we will only honor these bargain prices if you mention you read it in our The Green Door blog.

Jewels
Hey, ladies and gents, we have more baubles, bangles and beads than you can shake a stick at.  Some vintage, some not.  From huge obnoxious necklaces to tiny dainty chains – we cover the entire gamut.  Also, remember PUCA shell necklaces?  Perfect for Spring Break at the beach.  We have sizes to fit all necks.
                                          An Austin
Hey y’all, it’s an Austin and they tell me it’s collectable since they stopped making them.  And it’s almost free, ‘cause we checked on E-bay.  For those of you who are into that black and grey Art Deco scene, I’d think it would be a must have.

                                    Children’s Corner
Although, it’s true, we have no used children’s clothing, we do have a lovely little corner of our shop devoted to gifts for your off-spring – or anyone’s off-spring, for that matter.

Iron Cast Pooches
In my wanderings I was fortunate to find five or six miniature metal cast dogs.  Their aged patina appealed to me, so I bought them and have brought them to the shop for you to enjoy as well.

Bette’s Pink Cape
There is a piece of clothing in our shop that we affectionately refer to as “Bette’s Pink Cape”.  It is a consignment piece and we all thought that by now some adventurous college kid would have picked up.  It’s a lite-weight wool and perfect for those chilly spring days.  Oh, and did I mention it is pink?

                                     Clothing Bargains
As usual, we have a lot of good quality men’s and women’s wear from business to play.  We also have a nice selection of men’s and women’s shoes, ties, scarves, jeans, spring jackets, handfuls of Hawaiian shirts and athletic wear – all at give-away prices. (Hey, I’m getting pretty good at picking up this sales lingo.)

And lastly, please don’t think that your 15 minute drive to Mt. Vernon is only about The Green Door.  There are 4 other shops (antiques, collectables, exquisite gifts, art and antiquities) for your shopping acumen in the First Street Community Center.  There are many other little boutique-ish shops and antique stores scattered throughout the charming village of Mt. Vernon.  And, let’s not forget the many restaurants and coffee shops when you need a shopping break and it’s time to put your feet up.  Really, it’s all about FUN.
