Well, it appears that good old summer is well underway.  With the 4th of July right around the corner, it won’t be long before we will be harvesting our pumpkins.

But I’m getting ahead of myself.  There’s still plenty of summer remaining which means there is still time to add to your summer wardrobe with a visit to The Green Door.

Right now through the 4th of July we have a rack of T-Shirts and Hawaiian Shirts on sale. Selected T-Shirts only 1.07.  Selected Hawaiian Shirts only 5 bucks apiece.  Besides these sale items we still have lots of summer wear for both men and women at very reasonable prices.

With many of you going on vacation you should plan to stop by The Green Door not only to pick up a new wardrobe, but also to pick up some reading material as you lounge by the pool.  Here are a few of the new Titles:

“People One Ought To Know” by Christopher Isherwood (Caberet).  It’s a smallish book of poems about animals.

“Ensucklopedia” by the Bevis and Butt-Head boys.  Enough said.

“Organic, INC.”  No, it’s not a new wave or diet book.  It’s a book that will alter the way we think about what we eat and the business forces that shape what we eat.

“WILD ICE Antarctic Journeys”  A coffee table book about Antarctica – a continent that continually humbles man.

“The Help”  The Sunday Times says, “The other side of ‘Gone With the Wind’ – and just as unputdownable.”  I think the movie is out in August.  Read the book first.

“A Walk In Monet’s Garden”  Take a walk through the garden that inspired the world’s most popular impressionist painter with this full colour pop-up book with guided tour.”  Appropriate for children of all ages who love Impressionist painting.

“50 Norman Rockwell Favourites”  A large-sized volume of everyone’s favourite Rockwell illustrations and the stories behind them.

“True Crime”  True Stories of the World’s Infamous Murderers, Thieves and Con Artists. This hard cover volume is not for the faint of heart.

“Spirit Walker Poems by Nancy Wood.  Paintings by Frank Howell.  The mystical connection between humanity and nature is explored in this stunning book of poetry and art . . .

“Tell the Time with Miffy”  Spend the day with Miffy and learn to tell time on her special clock!  Learning is fun with Miffy! (Not for Children under 3 years.)

“The Other Man”  A Love Story. (perfect beach reading) about John F. Kennedy Jr., Carolyn Bessette, & Me.

“Still the Person I Turn To”  Celebrating the Mother-Daughter Bond

“Dreamland” a lullaby by singer/song writer Mary Chapin Carpenter

These are just a few titles from The Green Door library.  A lot of these books retail for $20 to $50.  Buy them from us for $2 to $10 dollars. A great way to spiff up your own personal library.

RECENTLY The Green Door came across a couple of mint-condition 70’s summer frocks.  I just have to say, “Too Fun!”

I would say, “Gather around the Piano” except that this piano is only 4’ by 1’ by 3’ and the keyboard has been reduced to 23 white keys and 20 black keys.  It comes with its own tiny bench.  I’d guess 1970’s.

An exquisite jardinière marked Royal Doulton with only one surface crack on the inside.

An unusual SQUARE pine table that folds down to become a corner table.  Beautiful finish.

Check out these women’s boots.  Obviously one-of-a-kind which is what our shop is all about.  You’ll be the only princess at the Ball wearing them.

 A 1908 Brownie Box Camera.

“Ehhhhhh……..What’s UP Doc?”  What about a Bugs Bunny CD carrying case?

For the cat lovers – a handmade ceramic cat planter.
